Editing Philosophy

• Open communication: I am committed to keeping an open line of communication throughout the process of working together. Questions, comments, or concerns are always welcome! I believe that accountability is a cornerstone of a positive editor-author relationship.

• Flexible edits: You can choose how often you review my edits; nothing will get cut without your input! If there's an element to the story you'd like to keep, we can work together to compromise on a solution that balances your artistic integrity and editorial needs.

• No generative AI: Writing is all about creativity, and an AI simply can't recreate the emotion and soul that gets poured into creative fiction. I will never use generative AI to edit your work.

• Understanding and empathy: I firmly believe that editing is not akin to criticism. I aim to provide constructive feedback and helpful suggestions, and am aware that all of my edits are subject to change and alterations.
